Hello everyone.
Just came back from spin. Where is everyone this morning?
Getting to like Kashi go-lean and greek yogurt for breakfast. Coffee later.
Brenda-Thanks for sharing the picture of Nick on his Birthday! He looks like he is really enjoying his Birthday cake..
Tina-Appreciate the update on AJ. Still praying for the 3 of you!!
What's your weekend? Was going to do the bicycle ride "MSU Farm Daze Tour" on Saturday but is supposed to be rainy and windy. Don't want to drive 70 miles to ride in the rain. So, will wait till it clears here and then ride......
QOTD-We all have a "to do" list. What's on your "not to do" list?
I will not let the small things bother me like it used to.
Many prayers, too, for all my OH friends that are going though health issues and other challenges..
Have a good Friday
Deb

Good morning, Deb.  Well, I FINALLY left the hospital last night.  It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and I sent AJ off to Desert Storm a month after we got married, nearly 19 years ago!!!  It was THAT hard leaving, last night.

I started crying last night about 9.  Didn't leave the hospital until 11.  I was on the couch and asleep by 11:40, which is about the time I stopped crying.  I slept all night through, until AJ called me this morning at 6AM.  Whew!  So, I'm getting around and heading to the hospital for the day.  He has a pretty full schedule this morning and this afternoon, so that's good.  Keeps him busy.

QOTD:  My "not to do" list is being amended.   We were totally prepared for the baby changing our lives.  But this whole stroke business...well, needless to say we are re-thinking MANY aspects of our lives and what the future will look like!  AJ and I tend to NOT dwell on the negative and strive to make the most of every moment!  So that won't change....will only get better!

 QOTD:
I love that fact that you reversed it...not what is on your TO DO.....answering this is a challenge.

I have been working REALLY hard to spring clean my life. I am not going to collect or keep things that do not serve true purpose--- in all areas of my life. From cleaning the book shelf, if it is not something I am going to read again or use for reference, I am giving to a friend or donating. Kitchen cupboards---if I don't like it, will never cook it again, its expired---out it goes. Clothing, if it doesn't fit, not repairable----out it goes. Friendships---if they are not truly friendships, GIVE and TAKE...I am moving on. Life is too short. There are no guarantees. I am challenging myself to understand the difference between want and NEED. I think we all clutter our lives with STUFF and it bogs us down  with MUST DO and responsibilities that make us miss out on a lot of simple, pure and delightful things.

Thanks for such a great questions.

Have a great weekend everyone!

xoxo,

Good Morning guys!
I'm at work having a great time!  My boss is off today and it's Frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriday!
I am trying to figure out my day's food.  The guys want chicken wings for lunch, so I'll have to see if I can "afford" to have one or two.

Let's see........not to do........I am trying to quit being so judgemental of people.  I tend to think it's my way or the highway, and that's just not very nice.  I'm working on it, slowly but surely.

Have a great weekend!  We're going to Detroit to gamble and walk around for a late Mom's Day outing.  I hope it doesn't rain!

Deb, what a nice way you started the day for us, with such an uplifting and kind thread.

Tina, it is great to hear that A****aking progress and working hard.  I am sorry the two of you have to go through this when it should be a time for great happiness, but it sure sounds like you will pull through together.

I am celebrating Mother's Day with my daughter during the day on Saturday, and going to a singles "barn dance" with an old friend on Saturday night.  Then maybe the movies on Sunday with another old friend.  I give many thanks for my great girlfriends, who keep me from lying on the  couch for 48 hours stretches.

As for my "not to do" list-well, I have had paint for my bedrooms for three years and the cans have never been opened so I guess that is on the list, along with cleaning the basement.  But seriously, not regaining weight and not running myself down as unworthy of love are my two biggest challenges.

Good morning all!

Just finished off my morning coffee and just waiting for breakfast to start in a little bit.  I think oatmeal is on my agenda for today.

Tomorrow morning I'm doing the 5k race at the  Bay City State Park with a couple fabulous gals from my support group.  I've been practicing some speedwalking techniques and I'm interested to see how I do in a race -- hoping to beat my best time.

QOTD -- My Not-To-Do list is pretty long because my To-Do list is even longer.   The one that comes to mind is the lawn.  After my lawnmower was stolen a couple summers ago I decided to hire someone to mow the lawn for me instead.  So this will be the third summer in a row that I've had a "lawn boy".  (Ok, the first year my lawn boy was about 70 years old.  Now it's my neighbor who is probably my age.)  Last night I pulled into the driveway and the grass was freshly cut.  It makes me happy.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

I've had a decaf this am.  I need to have a protein decaf while running around to pack to go to Ohio this weekend.  Another goat show.

See you all late Sunday or early Monday!

QOTD:  On my not to do this is, to not be judgemental and to try to walk in others shoes before opening my mouth.  I have trouble with it.

Morning Deb and all my Michigan friends,

Had my shake and viti's this am, now I'm starting my iced tea.  Same old, same old, but that's me!

Deb, that was a very nice post.  We've had allot of personal issues these past few weeks and it's nice to see everyone pulling for each other.   We've got a great group of people on here,  damn we've all been sappy lately LOL!

Anyways to the Q:  not to do.....geeze that's tough, I concentrate on the to do's so much more.  Your making me think!  I guess I'd have to say something on the line of Deb and Brenda's post.  After cancer I really thought I let the little things go, but as the years go by, I'm letting them come back, and I've got to work on that.  I'm also pretty judgemental at work, I deal with people lying to me all the time and not doing what they told me they would, so I automatically mistrust what I'm told.  I don't know if I can get over that though, following up to make sure they are doing what they told me they were going to do is what makes me good at my job!

Have a great weekend all,

Edie
